and went down to the comments to find it's the wonderful new format. I tried to read the comments...wow. What a mess. Under a comment is 'more'...I click it. Depending on the length of the comment it would either do nothing except make the comment reopen at the top of all the comments or it would do that plus open more comments under it. But it doesn't tell you how many comments are under the first comment and there's a 'more' under the first 2-3 sub-comments. I click that and seem to just end up back where I started or maybe with more comments open or maybe the the darn thing just jumped around to make my eyes hurt.
And this is our future here. What a pity.

The new commenting system is a total shit show.
It's as if somebody said "Here's a list of all the best commenting systems on the planet. Let's make one that's the exact opposite of all of these."
I'm not normally one to throw a fit every time there's a new "update" to Kinja, but I can't even tell who's talking to who.

I grabbed a random VWag article and skipped to the comments. What a shitshow. I try not to employ hyperbole, but that may effectively neuter Oppo commentary. What a waste of time.

Pretty much, yeah. There was a Greasemonkey script called Kotaku Fix that rendered the mess readable and I'm hoping that something like that hits again. I lack anything resembling the Mad Skillz to create that script of course...

Yup. I still have that script in my Firefox. I remember everyone going batshit about it back then. Why can't the guys in charge of page layout for Gawker media remember?
